Sorell Junior, Mikayla Fuller, was successful in selection for the State Under 18 Bowls Team. Mikayla will leave on the 26th September 2014 for the National Competition in Darwin. Considering the small amount of time (12 months) that Mikayla has been bowling, this is an outstanding achievement for both Mikayla and the Sorell Bowls Club….

The DJ Motors $1,000 Triples was held on Saturday 24 May. 104 bowlers from various southern clubs participated. The winners were all members of the Sorell Bowls Club – Peter Jones, Ron Cowen and Ray Young. They defeated a team from Orford to take out the prize money.

Presentations were made to three of the Sorell Indoor Bias Bowlers who represented the State at the National Championships in Mount Gambier, South Australia. By all reports these players acquitted themselves well, with Tasmania coming in second overall behind Victoria. Shirley Maraldo skipped a Women’s Fours Team to a Silver Medal.
